Ringg AI’s built-in on-call tools: call transfer, wait for keypad input, stay on line, end call and end chat, with each tool’s settings and how to mention it in the prompt.
System tools are built-in on-call actions under System Tools on the On-call tab. The list comes from Ringg; WhatsApp agents also get End chat. A new agent starts with Stay on line and End call (plus End chat on a WhatsApp agent); add the others from the panel. A WhatsApp agent splits them into Call Tools and Chat Tools; to send templates during a chat, see WhatsApp on-call tools.Every system tool except end chat has a Tool name (lowercase letters, numbers and underscores), a Description and a Tool Execution Message.
Tool
What it does and its own settings
Call transfer
Transfers the caller to a number or . Destinations, business hours and an unavailability message (below).
Wait for
Waits for the caller to type digits on the keypad. Digits and Timeout (seconds).
Stay on line
Waits silently when the caller asks the agent to hold, then resumes. Duration (seconds).
End call
Hangs up after a closing line. With no execution message, the agent says goodbye in its own words.
End chat
Closes a WhatsApp chat; the agent writes its own farewell. Mention it as @end_chat.
Capture code
Captures an alphanumeric code, such as an AWB or booking number. You can add more than one. Output variable, Length (min and max), Examples, Repeat while listening (on), Read back & confirm (on), Pause before confirming (7 seconds).
DTMF
Sends keypad tones into the call, for example to get through another company’s phone menu. It doesn’t listen for keys; that is Wait for DTMF. Works on Plivo and Vobiz numbers (Plivo only on multi-prompt agents). Common fields only.
Collect long input
Lets the caller speak at length, such as an address, without the agent replying. Collection ends when the caller presses the end key (# by default) or after a timeout (45 seconds by default); the agent then gets everything said as one message.
A system tool’s menu has Enable or Disable and Delete.
Click New destination. In Target, enter a number such as +91 98765 4xxxx or a SIP URI, or type @ to pick a variable (@{{customer_phone}}) or a pre-call result (@((crm_lookup.rm_phone))), resolved at transfer time. In Description, say who it reaches: “Billing team for payment disputes”.
2

Business hours takes a start hour, an end hour and a timezone. The default is 08:00 to 16:00 IST.
3

4
Save
Click Save tool, then mention @||call_transfer|| in the prompt. With an empty Tool Execution Message, the agent announces the transfer in its own words.
