Connect your own Telnyx account to Ringg and use your Telnyx numbers for inbound and outbound AI calls. Calls run on your Telnyx account; Ringg runs the voice agent.

Prerequisites

  • A Telnyx account with billing enabled
  • At least one Telnyx phone number
  • A Ringg workspace with access to Numbers
Ringg never changes your Telnyx configuration. You create the Voice API Application, set its webhook, and assign numbers to it in the Telnyx portal.

Step 1: Telnyx Account Setup

Create an API key

Create an API v2 key in the Telnyx portal. It starts with KEY. Copy it when it is shown; Telnyx displays it only once.

Copy your public key

Copy your account’s public key from the Telnyx portal. Ringg uses it to verify that every webhook really comes from Telnyx. Both the base64 form and the 64-character hex form are accepted.

Create a Voice API Application

Create a Voice API Application (Call Control) and set: The Ringg team shares the exact <ringg-host> for your account. Set <region> to the region your Ringg workspace runs in:
A wrong region means Ringg cannot find your account and inbound calls are rejected.
Copy the application’s ID. This is the Connection ID you enter in Ringg.

Allow outbound calling

To place outbound calls, attach an Outbound Voice Profile to the Voice API Application and allow the destination countries you plan to call.

Step 2: Phone Number Configuration

Assign each number you want to use with Ringg to the Voice API Application from Step 1. A number assigned to a different application or SIP connection will not reach Ringg.

Step 3: Connect Telnyx to Ringg

1

Open Numbers

In the Ringg dashboard, go to Numbers and choose Bring your own telephony.
2

Select Telnyx

Pick Telnyx from the list of providers.
3

Enter credentials

Fill in the three fields:
Credentials
4

Save

Save the account. Ringg checks the API key and the public key format before saving.

Step 4: Use Telnyx Numbers in Ringg

  1. Import numbers: from your Telnyx account in Ringg, import the numbers assigned to your Voice API Application.
  2. Inbound: open the agent that should answer, go to Attach number, select your Telnyx account and the number, and save.
  3. Outbound: choose the Telnyx number as the caller ID when placing calls or creating campaigns.
Every inbound number needs an agent attached. Calls to a number with no agent are rejected.

Step 5: Test Your Integration

Test outbound calls

Place a test call from an agent using your Telnyx number. You should hear the agent’s greeting within a few seconds of answering.

Test inbound calls

Call your Telnyx number from any phone. The attached agent should answer and respond to you.

Test call quality

Speak and listen on both sides. Audio is carried at 8 kHz (PCMU/PCMA), standard for phone calls.
Let the agent end the call. The call should end on your phone at the same time.
If your agent transfers calls, test one. Transfer targets must be in E.164 format (for example +14155550123) or a SIP URI.

How calls work

  • Maximum call length: the agent’s maximum call length applies. Telnyx also enforces a hard limit slightly above it, so a call can never run indefinitely.
  • Recordings and transcripts: recorded by Ringg and available in call history, as with other providers.
  • Security: Ringg rejects any webhook that does not carry a valid Telnyx signature for your account.

Troubleshooting

  • Check the API key is an API v2 key starting with KEY and is still active.
  • Check the public key is copied in full (base64, or 64 hexadecimal characters).
  • Check the Connection ID is the Voice API Application ID, not a phone number or SIP connection ID.
  • The number must be assigned to the Voice API Application you entered in Ringg.
  • The application’s webhook URL must match Step 1, including the correct region.
  • An agent must be attached to the number in Ringg.
  • An Outbound Voice Profile must be attached to the Voice API Application.
  • The destination country must be allowed in that profile.
  • Your Telnyx account must have sufficient balance.
  • Use E.164 format (+ and country code) or a SIP URI for the target.
  • Check the destination is allowed by your Outbound Voice Profile.
Update the Telnyx account in Ringg with the new values. Calls fail until both sides match.
