A post-call tool runs automatically once a conversation ends, with no prompt mention needed. On a voice assistant it runs when the call completes. On a WhatsApp assistant it runs when the chat closes. Use it to follow up with a summary, a payment link or the next steps. Only Send WhatsApp Template is offered post-call. By the time the conversation ends, the customer may be outside the 24-hour customer service window, and only templates are delivered outside it.
You need a connected WhatsApp Business account with at least one Ready number and one Ready template. See Connect WhatsApp Business.

Add the tool

1

Open Post-call tools

In the agent editor, select Tools in the left menu, then the Post-call tab.
2

Pick WhatsApp Business

In the side panel select Integration, then WhatsApp Business with your account name beneath it. It shows 1 tool available: Send WhatsApp Template.
3

Configure the message

4

Test and import

Use Add test value and Run test to send a real message, then select Import. From now on the template is sent after every conversation this assistant handles.

Post-call → Integration → WhatsApp Business offers only Send WhatsApp Template.

Common set-ups

Add the tool to a voice assistant’s post-call tools with a Utility template such as:
Map {{1}} to the name custom variable and {{2}} to a static product name. Leave Send to blank so it goes to the number that was called.
Add the tool to the WhatsApp assistant itself. It runs when the chat closes. A customer who simply stops replying may not trigger it for several hours; see when a chat opens and closes.
Set Send to to Static with a team member’s number, and use a template that carries the details you need in its variables.

Check what was sent

Post-call sends appear as tool calls on the conversation in Logs, with the resolved sender, recipient, template and Meta’s result. To be notified from your own systems as well, subscribe to webhook events.
