Connect a WhatsApp Business account, add and register numbers, manage message templates, and add WhatsApp send tools to an assistant.
This page takes a workspace from nothing to a WhatsApp number that can send and receive messages. It then covers the WhatsApp tools an assistant can use during and after a conversation.
Ringg connects to WhatsApp through Meta’s Embedded Signup. You sign in with Meta in a pop-up and share a WhatsApp Business account and phone number with Ringg. You can use existing ones or create new ones. Ringg never sees your Facebook password.
1
Start from Integrations
Go to Integrations and select the WhatsApp Business card under Messaging. In Link or create a WhatsApp Business account, select Setup WhatsApp Business Account. Meta’s Facebook Login for Business window opens. You can also start from Numbers → WhatsApp → Setup WhatsApp business.
Setup WhatsApp Business Account opens Meta's sign-in window.

4
Finish and return to Ringg
Meta shows Connecting your account for a few seconds, then Your account is connected to Ringg AI. Select Finish. Add payment method is optional here; you can add one in Meta Business settings later.Back in the dashboard the button reads Setting WhatsApp Business Account while Ringg finishes setup. Then you’ll see WhatsApp connected, and the account page opens with two tabs, Phone numbers and Message templates. Your number is listed as Pending.
Meta finishes connecting (sped up), and Ringg opens the new account with the number listed.
5
Register the number
Select Register on the number’s row. You can set a 6-digit PIN for two-step verification, or leave it blank to use the default. Keep the PIN somewhere safe, since Meta asks for it if the number is ever registered again. Select Register. When it finishes, the number shows Ready and can send and receive messages.
Registering the number with the WhatsApp Cloud API.
From now on the WhatsApp Business card shows 1 Connected and opens the account page directly.
Once connected, the WhatsApp Business card opens the account page.
If you see This WhatsApp Business account is already connected to another workspace, the account is linked elsewhere in Ringg. Disconnect it there first. Reconnecting the same account in the same workspace is safe, and it refreshes the access token.

What to do
Couldn’t load Meta’s sign-in
An ad blocker or privacy extension is blocking Meta’s script. Allow it for the dashboard and try again.
WhatsApp Business Account information was not received
The Meta window closed before you finished. Start again and complete every step, including Finish.
Failed to connect WhatsApp account
Retry once. If it keeps failing, contact support with the time you tried.
Could not register number: Phone number needs to be verified before registering (#133006)
Meta wants the number verified again before registering it. If the row offers Verify, verify it with a one-time code (see Add more numbers). Otherwise, re-verify the number in Meta’s WhatsApp Manager. Then select Register again.
The number you picked in Meta’s window is added for you. To add another number to the same account, use Add number on the Phone numbers tab. Numbers go through three states: added to the WhatsApp Business account, verified by a one-time code, and registered with the WhatsApp Cloud API. Only a registered number, shown as Ready, can send and receive messages.
1
Add the number
On the account page, open Phone numbers and select Add number. Choose the country, enter the number, and enter the Verified business name customers will see. Select Continue.
2
Send the verification code
Choose how Meta should send the 6-digit code, either SMS or Voice call, then select Send code.
3
Verify
Enter the 6-digit code and select Verify. If it doesn’t arrive, use Resend code. The number now shows Pending with a Register action.
4
Register
Select Register. You can set a 6-digit PIN for two-step verification, or leave it blank to use the default. When registration finishes the number shows Ready.
Add number: the country, phone number and verified business name (step 1 of 3).
An added but unverified number shows Pending with a Verify action, which reopens the code step.

De-register
Registered. It can send and receive messages and be attached to an assistant.
De-register stops the number from sending and receiving WhatsApp messages until it’s registered again. If an assistant uses the number, the dialog names that assistant and warns that it will be detached. Archive the local number record is ticked by default, which also removes the number from Ringg.
De-registering warns you which assistant will lose the number.
WhatsApp numbers also appear in Numbers → WhatsApp. There the Used By column shows which assistant each number serves.
Templates are pre-approved messages. WhatsApp requires them for any message you start outside the 24-hour customer service window: follow-ups after a chat, reminders, and messages sent after a voice call. You manage them on the Message templates tab.
1
Create a template
Select New template and fill in:
Template name: lowercase letters, digits and underscores, for example policy_renewal_reminder. It can’t be changed later.
Category: Marketing (promotions and offers), Utility (updates and alerts, the default) or Authentication (codes and verification).
Language: it can’t be changed later.
Header: None or Text.
Body: the message, with variables in double braces.
Variable examples: a sample value for every variable. Meta reviews these with the template.
Footer (up to 60 characters) and up to three Quick reply buttons, both optional.
The Preview shows the message as a WhatsApp bubble while you type.
2
Submit for review
Select Submit for review. The template shows In review until Meta decides, which can take up to a day.
Writing a named-variable template, adding example values, and watching the live preview.
Meta limited it, usually after poor quality signals.
Edit it, or create a replacement.
Each template’s ⋮ menu has Send test, Edit, Duplicate and Delete. Deleting removes the template from Meta and can’t be undone. Templates with media headers or link buttons, created outside Ringg, can be sent but not edited here.
Send test is available on Ready templates. Enter a recipient in international format, such as +919876543210, choose the Send from number, fill a value for every variable, and select Send test. Only registered numbers can send.
Sending a test of an approved template from a registered number.
Disconnect account, on the account page, de-registers every number on the account and unlinks the WhatsApp Business account from your workspace. It can’t be undone. To use the account again, you reconnect through Meta.
Disconnecting is blocked while live assistants still use this account’s WhatsApp tools. Remove those tools, or archive the assistants, first.
