> ## Agent Instructions
> To search or read these docs, connect the Ringg docs MCP server at https://docs.ringg.ai/mcp (no key needed; tools search_ringg_ai and query_docs_filesystem_ringg_ai) instead of browsing pages one by one. Setup for each client: https://docs.ringg.ai/resources/mcp-server/docs-mcp-server/mcp-for-ai-assistants.md
> The dashboard labels agents "Assistants"; these docs say "agent". Both mean the same object, identified by agent_id.
> API base URL: https://prod-api.ringg.ai/ca/api/v0. Send the workspace API key in the X-API-KEY header, from server-side code only.
> Placing a call dials a real phone number and spends credits. Confirm the number with the user before calling.
> To act on a Ringg workspace (place calls, edit agents, read transcripts), use the separate Ringg workspace MCP server at https://mcp.ringg.ai/mcp: https://docs.ringg.ai/resources/mcp-server/workspace-mcp-server/overview.md

# MCP for AI assistants

> Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Claude Code to the Ringg AI documentation MCP server at docs.ringg.ai/mcp to search and read these docs; no API key needed.

The docs server is read-only and separate from the [Ringg AI MCP server](/resources/mcp-server/workspace-mcp-server/overview), which acts on your workspace with your API key.

## What it exposes

| Tool | What it does |
| - | - |
| `search_ringg_ai` | Searches the docs and returns snippets with titles and links |
| `query_docs_filesystem_ringg_ai` | Reads pages as Markdown, including several pages in one call |

It also serves [`skill.md`](https://docs.ringg.ai/skill.md) as an MCP resource, and a discovery document at `https://docs.ringg.ai/.well-known/mcp` for tools that find servers on their own. A coding agent that reads skills can install the Ringg skill directly, without the server:

```bash theme={null}
npx skills add https://docs.ringg.ai
```

## Connect an assistant

On any docs page, **MCP** in the menu next to **Copy page** copies the server URL. To add it by hand:

<Tabs>
  <Tab title="Claude.ai / Desktop">
    **Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector**. Name it *Ringg AI docs*, set the URL to `https://docs.ringg.ai/mcp` and click **Add**. No sign-in is needed. In a chat, pick it from the **+** menu.
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="ChatGPT">
    **Settings → Connectors → Advanced → Developer mode**, then **Create**: name *Ringg AI docs*, URL `https://docs.ringg.ai/mcp`, authentication **None**. Save.
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Claude Code">
    ```bash theme={null}
    claude mcp add --transport http ringg-docs https://docs.ringg.ai/mcp
    ```
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Cursor & JSON-configured clients">
    Add it beside the workspace server in `.cursor/mcp.json`, with no headers:

    ```json theme={null}
    {
      "mcpServers": {
        "ringg-docs": {
          "url": "https://docs.ringg.ai/mcp"
        }
      }
    }
    ```

    VS Code: **Command Palette → MCP: Add Server → HTTP**, then the URL. Codex: in `~/.codex/config.toml`, `[mcp_servers.ringg-docs]` with `url = "https://docs.ringg.ai/mcp"`.
  </Tab>
</Tabs>

<Check>Ask "Using the Ringg docs, how do I attach a number to an inbound agent?" The client searches the docs and answers with links to the pages it read.</Check>

## Other ways to read the docs

* [`llms.txt`](https://docs.ringg.ai/llms.txt): an index of every page with a one-line summary; [`llms-full.txt`](https://docs.ringg.ai/llms-full.txt) is the full docs in one file.
* Add `.md` to any page URL, for example `https://docs.ringg.ai/agents/overview.md`, for one page as Markdown.
* [Mintlify Index](https://www.mintlify.com/docs/search-index) (`https://index.mintlify.com/mcp`) covers every product documented on Mintlify, Ringg included, so an agent that has it needs nothing else; connect this server only to search Ringg's docs alone.
