> To search or read these docs, connect the Ringg docs MCP server at https://docs.ringg.ai/mcp (no key needed; tools search_ringg_ai and query_docs_filesystem_ringg_ai) instead of browsing pages one by one. Setup for each client: https://docs.ringg.ai/resources/mcp-server/docs-mcp-server/mcp-for-ai-assistants.md
> The dashboard labels agents "Assistants"; these docs say "agent". Both mean the same object, identified by agent_id.
> API base URL: https://prod-api.ringg.ai/ca/api/v0. Send the workspace API key in the X-API-KEY header, from server-side code only.
> Placing a call dials a real phone number and spends credits. Confirm the number with the user before calling.
> To act on a Ringg workspace (place calls, edit agents, read transcripts), use the separate Ringg workspace MCP server at https://mcp.ringg.ai/mcp: https://docs.ringg.ai/resources/mcp-server/workspace-mcp-server/overview.md

# Twilio

> Connect your Twilio account to Ringg AI with your Account SID and Auth Token, import or buy US and Canada numbers, and use them for inbound and outbound calls.

Connect your Twilio account to run Ringg agents on your Twilio numbers; they then call and answer like any other [number](/documentation/inventory/phone-numbers/overview). This is one of the [bring-your-own-telephony](/documentation/inventory/phone-numbers/your-own-telephony/byot-overview) options. Twilio appears in **Add number** only when international calling is enabled for your workspace, because Ringg lists Twilio numbers for the United States and Canada. There are no Ringg-provided Twilio numbers.

## Connect the account

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the Twilio account form">
    Go to **Numbers → Add number**, select **Twilio**, and open **Configure provider** (the gear). Select **Add**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Fill in the fields and save">
    | Field | Value |
    | - | - |
    | **Name** | Your label, for example `Twilio US` |
    | **Account SID** | Your Twilio Account SID |
    | **Auth Token** | Your Twilio Auth Token |

    <Check>"BYOT added successfully." appears and the account is available in the telephony account selector.</Check>

    Saving also creates a Ringg app in your Twilio account.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Add and use numbers

With your Twilio account selected in **Add number**, both **Import your own** and **Buy new** are available. Outbound calls need no setup on the number. For inbound, Ringg links the number to its app when you [attach it to an agent](/documentation/inventory/phone-numbers/inbound-agent-number) and unlinks it when you detach it. Importing, attaching and testing the numbers are the same for every provider: steps 3 and 4 of [How BYOT works](/documentation/inventory/phone-numbers/your-own-telephony/byot-overview#how-byot-works).

## Troubleshooting

The account, import, no-response and audio problems common to every provider are in [BYOT troubleshooting](/documentation/inventory/phone-numbers/your-own-telephony/byot-overview#troubleshooting).
